This discounted course is for those who have the basics of gear and movement down, and are ready to expand their knowledge and ability to travel in the backcountry on a splitboard at the intermediate level. Your splitboard guide will cover tour planning as a splitboarder, split-specific travel techniques both uphill and down, refresh avalanche awareness/rescue and terrain recognition in the field. Your guide will give you tips on what the next steps are for your progression, and you will have a chance to meet potential touring partners that are the same ability level as you are. This course is for all those who identify with the woman community.

This course is for those with a strong foundation of backcountry skills, who want to learn how to travel through technical terrain on splitboards. In this 3-day course we will focus on learning the ins and outs of the technical gear, techniques, as well as utilize practical application of using those skills in steep terrain. Learn skills including ice axe and crampon use, rope-work in the ski mountaineering world, advanced terrain management, and more. This hut-based course includes 3 days and 2 nights in the hut and also breakfasts and dinners. Join like minded women and take your splitboarding to the next level!

Bring your backcountry gear including winter attire, splitboard and skins/flotation, beacon, shovel and probe. We will head over to Old Monarch Pass Road parking lot(up Monarch pass, Hwy 50 and 237) to some low angled terrain near the parking lot and practice companion rescue scenarios together! We will not be practicing in or near avalanche terrain, or touring in the backcountry.
